Isn't the advance of technology great. More oil in less time with less wells. But the price is still high. You have to wounder why.

Technology and those who embrace it is the way to tomorrow. I'm hoping that some of the oil wealth in ND is spread to the people living there.

So, it's technological improvements that is the reason for more drilling? Are you sure it is not just the increase in prices?

Increasing domestic oil and gas production is a good interim approach in developing domestic energy self-sufficiency.

What are they selling their oil for? Do they sell it for $40 a barrel? Do they charge $80 like OPEC?

They can drill as much as they want, big oil and the speculators will manipulate prices, supply and demand in order to keep the prices high. You are living in a fanatasy world if you think that the more you drill in the US, the cheaper gretail as will become.
Any surplus will be sold to the highest bidder, typically offshore. Reason being is that oil companies are in business to make money, period. They don't care who they sell to, so long as they maximize the profits (even to obscene levels).

Funny how the same people the don't want energy producing windmills get all happy when the landscape is dotted by drilling rigs. Conflict?

Drill, drill, drill! My question: If we are drilling more here in the US, then why is the price still going up? Because refineries are adjusting their output to conrol supplies, which combined with more demand, have driven prices up at the pump. Never again will the oil companies be caught with their pants down like they were in 2008. We can no longer win by simply conserving.

It's a start, now get busy in Montana, Idahoe, Colorado and anywhere else oil has been found and we could get away form greedy OPEC.

There are other rigs setting idle in this country that could be uncapped and put on the line of production, and we could thumb our nose at OPEC...just keep that hooknosed freak Al Gore and his enviorndmindless tree hugging morons under their rock. Take Gore's idiocy that he wrote and use it for fireplace fuel.
